The secretariat of the First Committee will hold a briefing for interested delegations on
Tuesday, 2 October 2007, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Room 2, on the
information sharing through a dedicated Web site, on procedures and practices of the
Committee and on functional assignments of the staff members servicing the Committee.
Organizational meeting
The First Committee will hold its organizational meeting on Thursday, 4 October 2007, at
3 p.m. in Conference Room 4, to consider its tentative programme of work and timetable
(A/C.1/62/CRP.1), a copy of which can be obtained in room S-2977; or by sending an e-mail
request to cherniavsky@un.org or serrano@un.org.
The Committee will begin its substantive work by holding a general debate on all
disarmament and international security agenda items from Monday, 8, to Tuesday,
16 October 2007. The list of speakers for the general debate is open. Delegations wishing

The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) will hold its

Third Committee

Sixth Committee
The Sixth Committee will hold its 1st meeting on Monday, 8 October 2007, at 10 a.m.
in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.
The provisional programme of work for the sixty-second session, as well as other
relevant information relating to the organization of work and the status of

Informal consultations on agenda item 79 (b) (Oceans and the law of the sea: Sustainable fisheries)
Open-ended informal consultations on the draft resolution on agenda item 79 (b)
(Sustainable fisheries, including through the 1995 Agreement for the Implementation of

Committee on Relations with the Host Country
The 234th meeting of the Committee on Relations with the Host Country will be held
