Carl Auböck won several gold medals at the Triennale in Milano.This cutlery won the gold medal at the world exhibition in Brussels, 1958.
His father, Carl Auböck, was a student of Johannes Itten at the Bauhaus and later also tought a class there.

The 30° angle of the blade (like a shark fin) was made to make it possible to cut with arms very close to the body! This idea was later also used by the Lufthansa.
